THYRISTOR EXCITERS TEP SERIES FOR SYNCHRONOUS MOTORS |
Thyristor exciters are intended for synchronous motors excitation winding supplying and reactive power regulation. Thyristor exciters structure includes: controlled rectifier – synchronous motor excitation winding power supply device (rectifier appliance with impulse-phase operate system); income reactor (or transformer); field suppression component, test system; output current, exciter voltage and stator current measure and control devices; protection and signal systems, including faults indication, automatic regulation and diagnose systems. Motor start control relay-contact apparatuses can be delivered with synchronous motor thyristor exciters as complete units.

The exciters are produced for currents from 200A to 1000A and voltage from 24V to 440V.
They provide: motor direct (reactor) start; excitation current manual assignment and its stabilization on specified level; motor reactive power automatic regulation with subordinate excitation current regulation; voltage automatic regulation (stabilization) on the stator binders with excitation current subordinate regulation; given cosφ automatic adjustment with excitation current subordinate regulation; excitation current forcing during connection motor to the mains, power supply voltage embarkation, motor load angle above defined value increasing.
During 380V power voltage feeding the system makes automatic self-diagnostic and exciter power circuits’ checking. Exciter readiness to work contact signal is given out at the positive-going diagnostic result.
It provides motor actual parameters automatic monitoring, which can be transferred in code form over RS485, CAN sequential interfaces to the receiving device scrap for following decoding.
Local control panel (mounted on the cabinet’s door) with placed keyboard and display on it gives a possibility to receive full information about motor start method, all actual motor work parameters, main excitation current selected regulator, other regulators parameters, about exciter emergency disconnection causes also. The software and the controller memory capacity allow making archive of exciter operation mode dates.
Main protection types: against external and internal exciter short circuits; against prolonged synchronous motor start; against asynchronous motion of synchronous motor; against excitation current abruption; against stator and rotor current overloads; against rotor winding over-voltages; against rotor isolation breakdown to the earth.
