THYRISTOR DC DRIVES AND EXITERS TEP SERIES

Thyristor DC drives TEP series are intended for velocity, motor voltage (EMF) and other motion coordinates that are determined by automated object and technological process requirements adjustment.

TEP series contains DC motors thyristor exciters and thyristor exciters for large-scale synchronous motors with reactive power regulation.

Area of electric drives use: metallurgy, coal-mining, machinery, agricultural industry, paper making and other industry branches.

Conditional shorthand structure:

TEP–X1X1X1X1/X2X2X2–X3X4X5X6–X7X7X7–X8X8X8X8X9X9X10X11–X12X12X13X13X13X14

TEP – thyristor DC drive;

X1 – rated output current, A;

X2 – rated output voltage, V;

X3 – power supply commutation fulfillment:

0 – without reactor, without circuit breaker (block fulfillment),

1 – transformer,

2 – reactor,

3 – without reactor with circuit breaker;

4 – with reactor without circuit breaker;

X4 – operation modes fulfillment:

1 – irreversible;

2 – reversible with excitation current reverse,

3 – reversible with armature current reverse;

X5 – linear contactor presence fulfillment:

1 – with contactor,

2 – without contactor;

3 – reversible, with armature current reverse;

X6 – remote control panel existence fulfillment:

1 – with consol (delivers separately for drive operation),

2 – without consol;

X7 – main circuit function fulfillment:

J – for DC motor armature circuit supplying without integrated exciter,

I – power source,

VDP – DC motor exciter,

VGP – DC generator exciter,

VSD – synchronous motor exciter,

VSG – synchronous generator exciter;

X8 – existence fulfillment: motor excitation winding power supply devices (V), dynamic braking devices (D), electromagnetic brake power supply devices (M), speed-voltage generator excitation winding power supply devices (T).

For example, V, D, M, T: V – with motor excitation winding power supply device, D – with dynamic braking device, M – with electromagnetic brake power supply device, T – with speed-voltage generator excitation winding power supply device.

X9 – control system modification:

1 – motor current, voltage (EMF, velocity) single-zone regulation system,

2 – motor current, voltage (EMF, velocity) two-zone regulation system;

3 – motor roller position, current, voltage (EMF, velocity) regulation system,

4 – motor power, current, voltage (EMF, velocity) regulation system,

5 – wiring and unwiring mechanisms regulation system,

6 – 9 9 – other regulation and adaptation systems, supplied by customers request;

X10 – control system fulfillment:

A – analog,

P – digital, processor;

X11 – cooling type:

1 – natural air cooling;

2 – forced air cooling;

X12 – object oriented fulfillment modification:

0 –base,

1 – 99 – object-oriented;

X13 – climate fulfillment according to the GOST 15150;

X14 – placement category according to the GOST 15150.

Drives accept operation in prolonged and repeatedly-short-time modes with loads that are given in Table 1

At 2-6 operation regimes mean square current value during cycle must not to overpass nominal value average time for more then 10 minutes. 

Minimum electric drive durability is 20 years.

Electric drive protection system provides:

-   protection against instantaneous current of limit value established for the given electric drive exceeding;

-   protection against thyristor emergency overvoltage;

-   protection against disappearing and unallowable reduction of drive excitation current;

-   protection against disappearing of power circuits voltage supplying and house voltage supplying;

-   protection against drive overload that exceed given value during definite time (see Tabl.1).

 

Electric drive signaling system provides:

-   electric drive work readiness signaling;

-   emergency converter disconnection signaling;

-   power circuit voltage and house voltage presence signaling.

 

Drives have output signal channels to object automation external system.

Additional nodes can be mounted: excitation winding power supply; electromagnetic brake power supply; dynamic braking device; speed-voltage generator excitation winding power supply.

Motor excitation winding integrated thyristor power supplies provide output voltage from 40 to 230V at load current to 16A (TAP50 – TAP200 fulfillment); 25A (TAP320 – TAP500 fulfillment); 50A (TAP800 – TAP1000 fulfillment).

For TAP1600, TAP2500 fulfillments motor exciter is delivered in the form of separately standing construct.

Construction and action principles

Drive’s power part is built on the base of three-phase bridge rectifier scheme. Reversible drives valve part is fulfilled on the base of parallel-opposition closing scheme and accommodated with reverse groups separate operation system.

Drive content includes: rectifier (rectified device with impulse-phase operational system); mains transformer or network reactor; line contactor; protection and signaling systems include faults indication; motor excitation winding power supply; automatic regulation and diagnostic systems.

Drives are fulfilled constructively in the form of one-side maintaining floor mounted framework cabinet. Placing cabinets by back side to each other and to the wall is acceptable. Protection against circuit’s over-voltages and during unloaded transformer disconnection over-voltages on AC supply input is set.

Depending of power drive cabinets have forced or natural air cooling.

 

1. Thyristor drives for armature circuits supplying

Drives are supplying from field buses 0,22; 0,4; 0,66; 6,3; 10 kV (frequency 50Hz, 60Hz) through matching transformers or current-limiting reactors.

Drive main dimensional parameters are given in Table2.

Drives dimensions and weights for currents from 200A to 5000A that are given in Table2 are without power transformer and for currents from 1000A to 5000A – without shifting reactor.

 

2. DC motors thyristor exciters

Thyristor exciters are intended for DC motors excitation winding supplying.

Thyristor exciters contain includes: controlled rectifier – DC motor excitation winding supplying device (rectifier unit with impulse-phase operation system); income reactor (or transformer); field suppression component, measuring mechanisms for output current and voltage control; protection and signalization systems including faults indication, automatic regulation and diagnostic systems.

DC motor exciters parameters are given in Table3.

Drives dimensions and weights for currents from 200A to 1000A that are given in Table3 are without power transformer.

 

3. DC thyristor power sources

Thyristor power sources content includes: controlled rectifier, output current and voltage control devices; protection and signalization systems including faults indication, automatic regulation and diagnose systems.

4. Block fulfilled thyristor drives.

Producing plant establishes drives in block fulfillment. At the same time its content doesn’t have: income mains transformer (or reactor), income power breaker, line contactor. These drive elements can be supplied optionally and placed on the customer’s object.

Drive is executed constructively in the form of block.
