SOFT STARTER PBT SERIES |
Soft starter represents itself operated three-phase thyristor AC regulator with control (analog or microprocessor), protection and signalization systems. It is intended for asynchronous motors control and commutation in AC circuit. It provides soft start, parametrical velocity regulation and motor overload and phase break-down protection. It possesses a high reliability at heightened commutation frequency, durability. It gives exploitation expenses considerable reducing in comparison with contact equipment. Soft starting permits to exclude circuit voltage reduction during high-power motors start. It provides mechanisms with ventilation moment on a roller (pumps, ventilators) rotate frequency regulation in a whole diapason.
Reversible starters provide motor reverse (rotate direction change) by means of contactless switching-over phases with defined current-limiting.

X4 – destination fulfillment (1 – for asynchronous motors start, 2 – voltage regulator for active and active-inductive loads);
X5 – operation modes fulfillment (1 – irreversible, 2 – reversible);
X6 – cooling type (0 – natural air, 1 – forced air from integrated ventilator);
X7 – dynamic braking existence (0 – without braking, 1 – with braking);
X8 – protection level according to the GOST 14254-96 (0 – IP00, 5 – IP54);

Soft starters have following protections:
- against impermissible current overloads;
- against thyristor external and internal overloads;
- against cooling air force system damage if it’s presence;
- against drive motor on two phases operation;
- against power supply circuit or house voltage disappearing.
Soft starters have following signaling:
- about power supply existence;
- about protections work out;
- about switched on and off condition.
Soft starters provide:
- asynchronous motor start current different increasing temps assignment by increase velocity assignment changing on the current regulator entrance;
- asynchronous motor’s start and overload currents limitation on predetermined level with 10% maximum error.
Soft starters are executed constructively in form of one-side maintained block. Reversible and irreversible starters’ functional schemes are given on the Picture.
Up to 75A inclusively cooling is natural air, for currents 100A and higher – forced, fulfilled by ventilators.
By customers request high voltage thyristor soft starters PBTV series can be produced and delivered.
